Betsy Glassie's modern impressionistic style has developed over years of study and experimentation. As in the work of some of her favorite artists, the late paintings of Monet and the abstract paintings of Joan Mitchell, garden landscapes and floral themes are her main subjects. In her brightly colored oil and acrylic canvases, she takes what might be considered a well-visited subject to a fresh new level through the skillful use of color, technique and material exploration.

"Glassie intrigues partly because of subject, but largely because she is in masterly command of the abstract elements of
her paintings. Kathryn Willis - The Freelance Star
